Ask the practice whether you need a referral from a GP before the first appointment. Ask what the first consultation costs, what the fee includes, and how follow-up visits are charged. Check whether home testing is available or whether the study has to be done overnight at the practice. Ask what to bring: a medication list, any referral letter, a sleep diary, and results from earlier studies. If you are travelling from another town, confirm parking, public transport and the exact entrance before the day. It is worth asking whether the practice deals with the kind of sleep problem you have, since some clinics focus on particular conditions. Confirm the cancellation policy, since missed-appointment fees differ between clinics. Confirm fees, availability and location directly with the practice, as directory listings are not updated in real time.
