Ask about referral requirements up front; they vary by practice and by how the consultation is paid for. Ask what the first consultation costs, what the fee includes, and how follow-up visits are charged. Find out whether the first assessment leads to a home sleep test or an in-lab overnight study, and how long results take. Ask who reviews the study results and when you will be told what they show. Confirm the cancellation policy, since missed-appointment fees differ between clinics. Ask whether appointment confirmations and any forms can be sent before the visit. Ask what to bring: a medication list, any referral letter, a sleep diary, and results from earlier studies. Use this page as a starting point, then verify the practical details with the practice itself.
