Check whether self-referral is accepted or whether a GP referral is needed before booking. Ask what is billed separately, such as the study, the report, or a follow-up appointment. Confirm whether the practice runs its own sleep laboratory or refers patients elsewhere for testing. Confirm the cancellation policy, since missed-appointment fees differ between clinics. Ask what to bring: a medication list, any referral letter, a sleep diary, and results from earlier studies. If you are travelling from another town, confirm parking, public transport and the exact entrance before the day. It is worth asking whether the practice deals with the kind of sleep problem you have, since some clinics focus on particular conditions. Use this page as a starting point, then verify the practical details with the practice itself.
