Before booking, ask whether a referral or doctor's letter is needed, because requirements differ between practices and how a visit is funded. Request the current fee schedule, including any charge for the sleep study itself and for reporting the results. Ask which sleep study the practice would use — home testing or an overnight study in a lab — and what each involves. Find out whether the practice runs a structured sleep programme and how many sessions it involves. If the practice sits inside a larger medical centre, ask which building and floor to go to. If you are travelling from another town, confirm parking, public transport and the exact entrance before the day. Confirm the cancellation policy, since missed-appointment fees differ between clinics. Confirm fees, availability and location directly with the practice, as directory listings are not updated in real time.
